Nullfield Calculator

A traverse misclose calculator. Enter each leg as a bearing and a distance; it returns the misclose, the accuracy ratio and the parts per million, and draws the traverse as you type.

The desktop app is the same calculation in a native window, available as a download for Windows and Linux.

Output

What a checked loop looks like.

Capabilities
Misclose, ratio and PPM
Every leg recalculates as it is typed. The result carries the 1 : N accuracy ratio, the parts per million, and a diagram of the traverse.
Blunder detection
Loop closure and an external angle sum check, so a transposed digit surfaces as a suspect leg rather than as a closure that is merely poor.
Units and expressions
Metres, feet, Gunter’s chains and links, mixed within one field. Distance fields accept arithmetic — 3.5ch + 0.75m reduces before it is used.
256-bit arithmetic
A long traverse does not accumulate floating-point error into its own closure. Grid coordinates reduce alongside the misclose.
